Field hockey sticks are sized to player height, running roughly 24 inches for the shortest players up to 38.5 inches for the tallest.

Field hockey stick length is sized primarily by player height, from about 24 inches for players under 3‘0” up to 38.5 inches for those over 6‘4”. Eight retailers publish their own version of that height-to-length scale, plus the FIH’s official equipment limits, and the retailers disagree by up to 2.5 inches at the same height. The FIH itself doesn’t regulate sizing by height at all — its rules only cap the maximum length, weight, and shape any stick may have.

Method
WebSearch quota was exhausted (200/200) after the first two queries, so all subsequent research used the DuckDuckGo HTML endpoint (https://html.duckduckgo.com/html/?q=...) via WebFetch for discovery, per fallback instructions. Several retailer sites (networldsports.com, grays-hockey.com, stx.com, hockeydirect.com, osakaworld.com, longstreth.com, harrowsports.com) returned 403 or 429 on direct WebFetch, so the r.jina.ai reader proxy was used for those, also per fallback instructions. STX's chart was a PNG image; it was fetched and read visually (OCR) rather than as text. The FIH Rules of Hockey PDF was fetched directly as a PDF and read in full (70 pages). No number in this dataset was taken from model memory -- every retailer figure was read from a live fetch of that retailer's own page (or, for Adidas/Dita, a retailer republishing that brand's chart), and every FIH figure was read directly from the current Rules of Hockey PDF.
Gaps
Three of the ten requested retailers (Net World Sports, Harrow, TotalHockey) could not be verified despite repeated attempts across direct fetch, the r.jina.ai proxy, and DuckDuckGo snippet search -- their pages exist but returned either access errors or navigation-only content with no chart data; see the 'no_data' rows and the secondary-kind sources above. Cranbarry no longer operates independently (cranbarry.com now serves Longstreth's site), so no distinct Cranbarry chart exists to report. The FIH Rules of Hockey PDF itself does not include a changelog explaining when or why the 105cm/41in length cap was introduced; the commonly-cited '2015' date and the 41in/104.1cm figure both come from secondary sources (Net World Sports, HandWiki, The Hockey Paper), not the primary document, and the primary document's own figure (105cm) differs slightly from the exact inch conversion (104.14cm) that retailers usually quote -- we could not find an FIH explanation for this discrepancy. Height-to-cm conversions in the STX and Longstreth rows are omitted because those sources published imperial-only charts; we did not calculate our own cm conversions to avoid introducing unsourced numbers.
